Temba small blue vase is part of a modern collection inspired by transferware, a process originally done in England in the mid-18th century to transfer or copy Chinese patterned designs from an engraved copper plate. Popular as a way to bring expensive hand painted pottery and dinnerware to the middle class in England and has now been embraced by collectors around the world.
